Draft guru Mel Kiper Jr. released his latest mock draft today. Some of the noteworthy picks were Ole Miss tackle Laremy Tunsil going to the Titans with the first pick and QB Carson Wentz drafted by Cleveland in the 2 slot. The 3rd pick in Kiper’s mock was Deforest Buckner to the San Diego Chargers. The #1 pass rusher in this draft Noah Spence went to the New York Giants with pick 10. The Gmen would love to see that stud fall to them. Notre Dame’s Jaylon Smith went to Chicago at pick 11.
Some other notables that Bills fans are interested in were slotted as follows:
N.O.- Sheldon Rankins #12,
Phi- Jack Conklin #13
LA- Laquan Treadwell #15
Det- Jarran Reed #16
Atl- Shaq Lawson #17
Mel Kiper Jr. had the Bills taking DE Kevin Dodd from Clemson. The following was his reason for choosing Dodd to the Bills.
Mario Williams is on the way out, and the difference between Buffalo being a playoff team or an also-ran is going to come from the Bills’ ability to make major strides on the defensive side of the ball. Rex Ryan will get an NFL-ready defender who won’t just make plays in the backfield as a pass-rusher, but also has the strength to defend the run and instincts to find the ball.”
Linebacker Ragland went to the Jets right after the Bills pick and Nkemdiche went 26th to the Seattle Seahawks, which would be a great fit for him.
This draft is deep along the defensive line and Kiper had 10 (which includes Spence) of those players going in the first round!!! That would have to be some kind of record wow! I’ll be breaking down some film on Dodd in the near future. Here is a highlight tape courtesy of In My Prime Productions:
