Sammy Watkins ended the 2015 season on a tear. According to Pro Football Focus, in the last four games to end the season he was 4th in total targets with 40, hauled in 26 receptions (5th) for 412 yards (4th) and 4 Touchdowns (T4th). In that same span he played in 143 Pass Snaps so he was targeted every 3.6 snaps (Pass snaps/Targets). That target rate allowed him to rank 3rd in Yards Per Route Run (YPRR) averaging 2.88 yds in the last month of the year.

But if you compare Sammy Watkins’ stats from the season, versus the top targeted receivers you can see why he spoke out about his role last season.
“When I have one-on-one coverage, go to me. I don’t care what’s going on over there. I don’t care if he’s open. When I get one on one, just target me.”

Tyrod Taylor and Sammy will need to pick up where they left off. He should see no less than 10 targets a game. It will only benefit the team…..
