Coming off a strong offseason, the rapidly approaching 2022 NFL season figures to be a successful one for a Buffalo Bills team that has its sights set firmly on the Super Bowl. Here are 10 bold predictions for the team ahead of the regular season.

10) Gabe Davis goes bonkers

BOLD PREDICTION – DAVIS HAS 100 CATCHES, 1,000 YARDS, 10 TOUCHDOWNS

There will be plenty of opportunities for Davis to take a massive step in 2022 with 184 targets available after the departures of Cole Beasley and Emmanuel Sanders. With the UCF product now the clear #2 and the growing connection between himself and Josh Allen, we should see growth from the 35 catches, 549 yards, and six touchdowns he had a season ago. Taking these factors into consideration, I don’t believe it is out of the realm of possibilities that Davis goes for 100/1000/10 and earns All-Pro recognition.

Why Bills WR Gabriel Davis is primed for an explosive 2022 season

9) James Cook(s)

BOLD PREDICTION – COOK HAS OVER 1,000 TOTAL YARDS

The rookie has shown some burst already in the preseason, and we know the Bills want to add both receptions out of the backfield and YAC, which are two things Cook excels at. The second-round pick is being injected into one of the most explosive offenses in the NFL. If he can earn the trust of Allen and offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey, there is no reason he can’t his a total of 1,000 combined rushing and receiving yards.

8) Josh Allen MVP

BOLD PREDICTION – ALLEN WINS MVP WITH OVER 5,500 TOTAL YARDS AND 50 TOTAL TDS

This prediction isn’t as crazy as some non-Bills fans may assume it is. We already know Allen is the preseason MVP favorite, so that isn’t too bold. Putting up the massive numbers on the other hand would be neat to watch. Last year, the Wyoming product had 4,407 passing yards and 763 yards on the ground. That means he needs to find 330 yards in 17 games to his 5,500 or he needs to average 19.4 more yards per game. When you break it down like that…easy, right?

What would an MVP season from Bills QB Josh Allen look like?

7) Bills Offense Explodes

BOLD PREDICTION – BUFFALO LEADS NFL WITH 35+ POINTS PER GAME

The Bills finished third a year ago with 28.4 points per game, and Dallas was first at 31.1 points per game. The 28.4 includes some stinkers: 16 points vs. Pittsburgh, six vs. Jacksonville, ten in that storm vs. New England, and 15 vs. Indianapolis. I don’t see this many disappointing outings from the 2022 edition of the Buffalo offense.

6) Hyde and Poyer ball hawks

BOLD PREDICTION – THE DUO BRINGS IN 15 INTERCEPTIONS

Micah Hyde and Jordan Poyer reeled in 10 picks last year but with the team scoring as much as I believe they will this season (see #7) the chances to snag some passes from the opposition will rise. The need to pass – and pass deep – gives the All-Pro duo an opportunity to bring in seven or more interceptions each.

5) Twitter Eats Edmunds Crow

BOLD PREDICTION – EDMUNDS LEADS NFL IN TACKLES

The Virginia Tech product has always hovered around 110-120 tackles per season, which is pretty short of the 192 tackles by Foyesade Oloukun that led the NFL last year. The Bills have upgraded the line in front of Edmunds immensely and he should be free to fill holes and roam the box as he pleases. With this and teams needing to run more plays to catch up, 2022 could be a monster season for the 24-year-old.

4) Groot the Great:

BOLD PREDICTION: GREGORY ROUSSEAU RACKS UP 10+ SACKS

The Bills bolstered every spot on the line around Rousseau in the offseason, meaning the second-year EDGE should see plenty of one-on-one opportunities to introduce himself to the opposing quarterback. As a rookie, he had just four of the team’s 42 sacks, but I expect that number to jump by at least 10 and several of those should go to Groot, who will see his snap count climb from 49%. Add in learning and playing opposite of Von Miller and the name Greg continues to climb in the power rankings…despite my trying to constantly weigh it down.

3) D stands for Destruction

BOLD PREDICTION – THE BILLS LEAD THE NFL WITH 55 SACKS

Pittsburgh’s 55 sacks led the NFL last year with the Bills finishing 11th at 42. With the additions on the line, highlighted by Von Miller, the Bills can’t help but see a growth in time spent in the backfield. The young players should take a massive step (see #4) heading into year two for Rousseau and Basham and year three for Epenesa. Pair that with opportunities late in games with the Bills leading and maybe I should set this boldness to 60.

2) AFC comes through Orchard Park

BOLD PREDICTION – THE BILLS ONLY LOSE TWO GAMES THEY TRIED IN

The Bills should walk to the #1 seed and a bye in the playoffs after starting the season 14-2 before playing the likes of you and me in Week 18 and finishing 14-3. Okay, this one isn’t that bold, but it is fun to write after covering the team’s final decade of the drought.

1) Super Bowl

BOLD PREDICTION – BILLS WIN THE SUPER BOWL

Bills Mafia, just read that sentence over and over and know it is the betting favorite to be a thing.
